one man dead after motorcycle accident in Bedford County

A Blair County man is dead after being thrown from his motorcycle in Bedford County Saturday evening around 9:30, state police say.

According to a press release, Lowell Musselman, 47, was traveling west on Helsel Road in Kimmel Township when he attempted to negotiate a slight right curve.

State police say Musselman's motorcycle began to turn on it's right side as it began to exit the southern edge of the road.

The press release states that Musselman's motorcycle then struck a tree and flipped onto it's right side before traveling down an embankment.

According to state police, Musselman then struck a group of trees before continuing down the embankment and striking another group of trees.

The press release states that Musselman was then thrown from his motorcycle, striking multiple trees before landing on the roadway.

State police say Musselman was pronounced dead at the scene.
